Join the Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) Behavioral Health Community Services Division as a Social Worker and help individuals and families in need of compassionate professional this vital role youll provide assessment counseling crisis intervention and support services to clients seeking behavioral health assistance. Your expertise will help empower clients connect them with resources and guide them toward healthier more stable lives. Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:
A masters degree in social work.
NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
As a Social Worker you will- Complete comprehensive assessments and service plans using appropriate diagnostic interviews and model techniques. Service plans include problems goals and objectives of the individual as well as the type frequency and duration of service to be provided. Service plans are signed by the individual served and the guardian if the service recipient is a minor
- Provides therapeutic services to the client consistent with the therapy model. The preferred location for intervention is the home of the client; however other locations may be suitable provided that adequate controls are in place to protect confidentiality
- Provides therapeutic interventions to the individuals served and families in the community and outside of the typical 9-5 workday as consistent involvement from family members is essential to the models. Consequently flexibility to conduct after-hours appointments is a necessity for this position
- Travels to homes and/or other locations in the community to provide services in a fashion consistent with the model. May transport individuals served in agency vehicles. Maintains compliance with JPHSAs Driver Safety Program Policy; the incumbent must have a current drivers license proof of insurance and a clean driving record. Individuals served cannot be transported in the incumbents personal vehicle
- Completes documentation in the agencys electronic health record and in model-specific systems regarding individuals served with treatment
- Reviews assessments and other documentation to support the diagnosis and provide evidence of medical necessity

Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group and can be filled as a Social Worker 1 2 3 or 4.
Work Schedule:Flexible work hours that may be outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday dependent on job duties.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
