Data Specialist *** Urgently Hiring

  • Full Time
  • Monday to Friday : 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Salary/Non-Exempt : $33.65 (hourly)

*** Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles Compton Watts and Lynwood area.

SHIELDSmission is to develop deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.

Provides administrative support for the Cal CRG program and works closely with the Program Administrator and Program Manager. The Data Specialist is responsible for collecting organizing analyzing and maintaining high-quality data to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role ensures data accuracy integrity and accessibility while producing reports dashboards and insights that drive operational efficiency and strategic initiatives.

Primary Duties:

  • Supports database performance and provides feedback on successful program monitoring strategies to help achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of programmatic protocols to ensure the quality of service delivery data collection and evaluation.
  • Develops and implements systems for ongoing program management and assessment of outcomes.
  • Collect clean and validate data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Maintain databases spreadsheets and data systems ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends patterns and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and maintain reports dashboards and data visualizations for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy security and confidentiality standards.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in designing and improving data collection tools and processes.
  • Train staff on data entry reporting and quality assurance best practices.
  • Stay current on emerging data management tools technologies and best practices.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies procedures and organizational relationships.
  • Works closely with the Program Administrator and Program Manager to provide feedback on successful data capturing strategies to help achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in Data Science Statistics Information Systems or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in data management analytics or related work.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to communicate in the language of the community being served.
  • Ability to review several diverse reference sources select and synthesize data for reports and other forms of correspondence.
  • Ability to work with interruptions while maintaining positive communication with staff and clients.
  • Knowledge of the organization and composition of letters minutes reports charts and spreadsheets
  • Ability to use diplomacy and discretion when giving out information and referring and directing callers and visitors.
  • Ability to create presentations charts graphs databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to follow apply interpret and explain instructions and/or guidelines.
  • Ability to determine work priorities.
  • Ability to make decisions and take appropriate actions.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to type and use word processing software
