You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPrimarily responsible for conducting investigations of protected class discrimination and/or harassment complaints including Title IX and retaliation complaints. Other responsibilities could include investigating complaints relating to grants and contracts fraud waste abuse whistleblower claims NCAA violations and other matters as needed. Assists in compliance officer in risk assessment mitigation and monitoring.

Boise State University is committed to conducting its affairs ethically and in compliance with governing laws regulations and accordance with the Idaho State Board of Educations Governing Policies & Procedures Section V.Y. the Office of Institutional Compliance and Ethics is responsible for coordinating compliance oversight monitoring and reporting at the institutional level.
Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of areas typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies processes and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies practices and procedures.
Conduct internal investigations into complaints filed by Boise State Community members alleging:
Conduct similar investigations as listed above for external agencies (e.g. EEOC Idaho Human Rights Commission Office for Civil Rights).
Contemporaneously document the investigation process including:
Analyze applicable policies laws and/or contractual obligations to determine whether based on all the evidence gathered in the course of the investigation a violation has occurred; in the case of a violation confer with relevant parties to determine appropriate response including recommendations for disciplinary action.
Prepare a written investigation report for review by the AVP of Compliance/Deputy Director and/or Title IX Coordinator.
Developing and reviewing prevention and response programs and policies to address discrimination and sexual misconduct.
Organizing and conducting university training and educational activities.
Coordinating and participating in university and community committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Strong oral and written communication analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to generate cultivate and maintain business relationships with the corporate community maintain a high level of communication skills and work well with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with unique life experiences.
Experience interpreting and applying complex statutes and regulations.
Must be able to work independently make decisions and problem solve.
Familiarity with nondiscrimination statutes and regulations.
The ability to stay impartial during an investigation.
Experience with trauma-informed interviewing.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience.
Juris Doctorate or other higher-level degree.
At least 1 year of experience working in higher education.
At least 1 year of experience working with victims of trauma.
At least 1 year of experience investigating harassment or discrimination.
