Nautical Shipping part of the Leeward Group is looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to take our sales initiatives to the next level.
We are a forward-thinking organization that is leading the way in the Shipping & Logistics Industry.
The Leeward group represents 7 brands across Liner Shipping Ro/Ro Breakbulk and Freight Forwarding which provides a proactive BDM with all of the tools needed to be successful in a challenging industry. Our new CRM has recently rolled out in July and it is currently being customized as a tool for us to enable our Commercial teams to drive and organize sales activity. Our focus is on the quality and effectiveness of our customer interactions rather than the quantity Maximising your conversion rate is the key to success! Exciting times ahead it is the perfect time to join our team.
Your Role
In this key position you will develop new opportunities through direct outreach and research across all key industry verticals and proactively manage client portfolios.
Your responsibilities include:
Identifying and targeting new business through research and direct contact
Managing existing customer accounts and securing repeat business
Strengthening brand presence in regional markets
Developing and delivering accurate customer quotations
Collaborating with sales support and customer service to ensure smooth client onboarding
Using our customized CRM tool to drive your sales efforts and to track activities and opportunities
Leveraging market data to align customer mix with principal goals
Maintaining expert knowledge of SOPs tariffs and pricing structures
What Were Looking For
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or related field and/or
Proven experience in shipping or logistics business development exposure to Breakbulk & Ro/Ro sales would be an advantage
Solid grasp of market research sales strategy and customer relationship management
Skills:
Strategic planning and market targeting
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office
Strong research analytical and presentation abilities
Collaborative mindset with a passion for team success
Success in This Role Looks Like:
Achieving or exceeding sales targets
Generating repeat business and growing client accounts
Expanding brand awareness in key industries
Using our CRM correctly to enable accurate progress review
Smooth client transitions and long-term relationship building
Identifying and capturing value-added service opportunities for the rest of our Group
