We are searching for a full-time experienced Actuary to join our Actuarial services team and assisting in developing our healthcare practice. This position will provide the opportunity to broaden your technical knowledge and industry experience communicate with clients and contribute to the development of the larger actuary practice. This role will be based in Naperville IL.

Essential job duties:
- Complete actuarial valuation work as prescribed under GASB 74/75 ASC 765-10 and ASC 965-10.
- Calculate risks and rewards for fully insured clients going to a self-insured model.
- Create and support work products for monthly analysis of self-insured medical programs including status of the self-insurance fund and recommendations on plan design.
- The Actuary will be instrumental in the growth and development of the actuary team; provide direction training and oversee project management.
- Serve as technical expert and promote sound actuarial practices.
- Maintain and assess controls related to health trends and age costs for OPEB valuations.
- Support the creation and review of the final Actuarial Report deliverable.
- Coordinate with auditors and other professionals to meet all reporting requirements.
- Effectively communicate with clients on day-to-day tasks data gathering and final reports in a way that individuals without an actuarial background can understand.
- Completes in-depth actuarial and financial analysis on health care costs and discount analysis.
Position Qualifications:
- 4-10 years of actuarial experience in employer health programs with a consulting firm.
- Healthcare consulting experience required.
- Bachelors degree in actuarial science mathematics or statistics from an accredited university/college.
- ASA designation preferred.
- Demonstrated success in project management including planning organizing coordinating and managing staff clients and/or partners towards the successful completion of a project.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of actuarial valuation software.
- Excellent client service skills.
