This Position reports to:
SDS project manager supervisorThe project execution team is at the heart of our organization. It meets and exceeds customer expectations while contributing to building a profitable and sustainable future. ABB Measurement & Analysis in Quebec is a world leader in spectroscopy.
Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used among other things for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and global weather forecasting.
Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing various products that meet several industrial analysis needs daily.
By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec you will actively contribute to our clients projects as well as to the research and development of our technology. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. As part of an engineering contract project you will be the project manager for projects executed by external suppliers for which you will be responsible. You will negotiate draft and ensure the execution of contracts by suppliers.
You will successfully execute projects of varying complexities with budgets ranging from $50k to $10M. Attached to the project office you will ensure the delivery of projects by rigorously orchestrating communications and monitoring all stakeholders.
Under your leadership external suppliers will be engaged to develop within budget cutting-edge products that meet strict quality criteria and comply with the demanding requirements of our clientele including the Canadian and European space agencies.
Your Role: Own the Challenge
Project Management: Lead a sub-project within a larger initiative overseeing planning cost risk and execution while ensuring alignment with the main projects structure and goals.
Supplier Coordination: Manage the full lifecycle of supplier relationshipsfrom proposal to execution and closureincluding contract drafting negotiation and dispute resolution.
Contractual Documentation: Prepare and manage key project documents such as NDAs IP agreements Statements of Work (SOW) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments like legal procurement and project control to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Team Integration: Work closely with core project team members including Systems Engineers QA and technical leads to ensure cohesive project execution
What it takes to run what runs the world
Bachelors degree in engineering business or a related field with over 10 years of experience in project and contract management ideally in aerospace or defense sectors.
Skilled in managing technical SOWs WBS master planning and payment milestones across all project phasesfrom submission to closurewithin large-scale complex and international projects.
Proven ability in subcontracting contract drafting negotiation and handling contractual amendments.
Fully bilingual in French and EnglishFrench is essential and English is required for regular communication with clients outside Quebec.
Experience with European Space Agency projects and PMP certification are considered strong asset.
