Toole Design Group in Kansas City MO is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Senior Engineer (Civil/Roadway). A Day in the Life of a Senior Engineer (Civil/Roadway)
You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You lead support and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as MicroStation and AutoCAD/Civil 3D to fulfill production work on your projects. You will share your knowledge with staff and clients to develop feasibility studies concept plans and construction documents as well mentor your colleagues to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.
You participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices. Your job can sometimes be challenging but you get to work with a close-knit team that is passionate about the work and the communities that you serve.
We are targeting a salary range of $108000 to $140000 for this position.
Work Schedule for a Senior Engineer (Civil/Roadway)
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 2 days per week. Toole Designs Kansas City office is in the vibrant Crossroads neighborhood an exciting walkable area of downtown with abundant restaurants and cafs nearby. The office is a short walk from the KC Streetcar and can also be accessed by bus foot or by bicycle.

Qualifications of a Senior Engineer:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in civil engineering
- Professional engineering license in MO and KS (or ability to obtain)
- 8 years of experience
- 3 years of experience in project or design management role
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including OpenRoads) AutoCAD (including Civil 3D)
- Experience coordinating utility right-of-way street lighting traffic signals and landscape and hardscape layout
- Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
- Exposure to construction management is a plus
- Having a strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design is preferred
