Part-Time Mental Health Worker - Community Residential Setting Company Overview: AtResidential Transitions Inc. Position Overview: Mental Health Workers operating in a Direct Support (DSP) capacity provide direct support professional services and independent living skills training to the individuals we serve in our 24-hour residential programs. These programs serve the needs of individuals in a home setting that is managed by RTI. Our clients include those with a severe mental illness (SMI) health diagnosis and or traumatic brain injury (TBI) disability. This role reports to the Program manager and has no direct reports. The team member will begin their shift Friday night and sleep at one of our group homes then proceed with their morning day and evening shift on Saturday then sleep at one of our group homes until Sunday morning then resume morning day and evening shift to close out the 48-hour shift at 11:30pm on Sunday every other week.
Role Responsibilities: - Support individuals in independent living skills through 1:1 service.
- Support individuals in mental health management through identifying coping skills practicing coping skills and alternative methods.
- Teach and model community integration skills such as self-managing medications managing personal finances appropriate interpersonal interactions managing the public transportation system completing the necessary tasks to maintain a home and accessing community resources.
- Interacts informally with individuals to facilitate socialization and appropriate behavior.
- Participates in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events.
- Teaches healthy living habits and develops the accompanying skills.
Required Qualification and Experience: - 1 year work experience working with those with a severe mental illness and or traumatic brain injury.
- 18 years of age or older with a completed High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
- Ability to pass the BCA Criminal Background Check and the Sexual Exploitation of Patients by Psychotherapist screen required by DHS.
- Ability to pass screening required by Federal Human Services office of the Inspector General
- Ability to organize and work independently.
- Willingness to travel within the Metro Area for applicable mileage reimbursements with a current drivers license clean record and personal vehicle with insurance; and able to transport clients in that vehicle.
- Possess a person-centered approach consistent with the Philosophical approach of the individual program and RTI
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
- Other as needed as company and role expand or evolves.
Preferred Qualification and Experience: - At least one year of experience working directly with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).

Physical & Mental Requirements Employees in this role must be able to: - Walk stand sit bend climb stairs use a ladder and perform crisis prevention/intervention techniques
- Use hands for writing typing data entry and medication dispensing
- Lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally exert physical effort during duties
- Maintain vision and hearing necessary for reading charts operating office equipment using a computer and driving a vehicle
Compensation:$20 per hour (Overnight shifts are compensated at the asleep rate unless the staff is scheduled for an awake that case the rate is $20/hour or higher depending on the clients rate.)
