The Division of Investments with the Department of Commerce Community and Economic Development is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 1 (PCN 08-9047).
What you will be doing:As this is an on-site position and not eligible for telework you will be working in our headquarters office located on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in beautiful downtown Juneau. You will enjoy a collaborative atmosphere in a fully resourced and modern office space with splendid views of Mount Juneau and the Gastineau Channel.
The 9th floor has a fully equipped and spacious break room that you will have full access to as well as easy access to various restaurants and coffee shops.

Who we are looking for:Customer Service: Interacts with recipients of services (internal or external customers) in a way that provides accurate timely and effective information and service in a courteous and professional manner;
Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;
Communication:Ability to utilize both verbal and written communication working on a routine basis with a broad-range of people and personalities. Working with others as a team and adapting to changing priorities and timelines. Ability to follow internal guidelines and training to provide quality support for the office and division.
Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations; and
Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
Due to the recent recruitment hiring freeze only positions necessary to protect the health and safety of Alaskans and that meet essential State responsibilities will be filled.
One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
Substitutions:
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.
Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
