About the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis
There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners along with an elected county judge serve as members of Harris County Commissioners Court the administrative head of the countys government. Commissioner Rodney Ellis represents the constituents of Precinct One.
With approximately 1.17 million residents Harris County Precinct One is a diverse urban precinct that covers 363 square miles. Precinct Ones multi-racial multi-ethnic population is roughly 33 percent African American 38 percent Latino 21 percent Anglo 6 percent Asian and 2 percent other or multiple One stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County. The Precincts territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex Toyota Center Minute Maid Park and the BBVA Compass Stadium. Other notable landmarks include the 263-acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center. The Precinct is also the higher educational home to Houston Community College Rice University Texas Southern University the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas. Precinct One manages more than 21 parks 10 community centers numerous hike-and-bike trails three maintenance service centers and several area offices all of which provide an array of services to Precinct One residents.

What you will do at Precinct One:
The Office of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellisis looking for a SeniorProject Manager (Drainage)!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating drainage projects from initiation to completion for all aspects related to the design and construction of drainage infrastructure projects in Precinct One including open ditches channels storm sewers detention basins and related facilities. You will visit project sites attend meetings prepare and present documents for and attend community outreach addition you will monitor project progress track key milestones and ensure alignment with project objectives. Review data plans and generate/review reports relaying project information and present to project stakeholders and Precinct staff. Conduct thorough project reviews to assess project performance against initial goals.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to established processes. This includes the management of all documents related to design and construction including plans contracts and agreements and purchasing documents. The Project Manager Drainage prepares and/or reviews design and construction information and effectively communicates that information to external and internal audiences orally in writing and in presentations. The Project Manager Drainage will collaborate with cross-functional teams stakeholders and vendors to achieve project goals and deliver successful drainage projects. The Project Manager Drainage is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with all project stakeholders and team members.

Education
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Engineering Technology or Construction Management from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- Ten (10) years of project management experience in a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications such as Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
License:
- Valid Texas State Drivers License
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend construction plans estimates and specifications.
- Ability to develop project portfolio status and performance reports.
- Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. including co-workers consultants management other governmentagencies and constituents.
- Capacity to simultaneously work in an organized and independent way on multiple tasks and set priorities for a challenging workload.

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
- Full-time Regular
- Monday - Friday schedule with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after 6-months. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the departments and some weekend or evening work may be required.
Work Environment:- This position includes standard office work which may require remaining stationary and working at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. At times files or boxes must be transported weighing up to 15lbs. It also includes fieldwork which may require driving to and walking through active job sites and/or undeveloped areas containing uneven and sloped surfaces.
- This position may operate in an indoor professional office environment and/or outdoor environment. Exposure to various and extreme weather conditions temperature variations loud noises and possible dangerous chemicals could be encountered.
