Oracle Database Administrator Job Specification
We are seeking a skilled and proactiveOracle Database Administratorto join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability performance and security of our Oracle database systems supporting both internal teams and client-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain Oracle database systems.
- Ensure database availability integrity performance and security.
- Support application releases installations and patching activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the application and database.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for upgrades installations backups and restores.
- Monitor system health and proactively address performance issues.
- Collaborate effectively with development support and client technical teams.
- Participate in an out-of-hours support rota as required.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Database Expertise: Oracle Database Architecture Performance Tuning Installation & Configuration Maintenance Backup & Recovery Security Management Patch Management.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in LINUX environments.
- Application Support: Experience in IT Applications Implementation and Technical Support.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Documentation: Ability to produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
- Development Awareness: Understanding of software development processes and lifecycle.
