Kaeppel Consulting is in search of a Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications Strategy for a direct hire onsite role at a clients site in San Antonio.
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced innovative results-driven Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications Strategy to lead the Universitys brand vision marketing initiatives and communications strategy. This position will shape implement and oversee strategies that enhance the institutions reputation support enrollment and advancement goals and foster meaningful engagement with key audiences.Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Brand Management
Lead the development execution and assessment of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with the Universitys mission and strategic plan.
Serve as the Universitys brand steward ensuring consistency in visual identity tone and messaging across all communication channels.
Stay abreast of industry trends emerging technologies and higher education best practices to keep the Universitys marketing approaches innovative and competitive.
Marketing & Campaign Development
Plan manage and evaluate marketing campaigns to support recruitment retention fundraising academic programs and community initiatives.
Collect analyze and apply market research and data analytics to identify target audiences and refine campaign strategies.
Collaborate with Enrollment Management Advancement and Academic units to create content and campaigns that drive measurable results.
Communications & Public Relations
Oversee all internal and external communications to foster engagement with faculty staff students alumni donors and community stakeholders.
Manage media relations develop press materials and cultivate relationships with local state and national media outlets.
Develop and implement crisis communication plans in collaboration with University leadership.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team of marketing communications and creative professionals.
Oversee vendor and agency relationships to ensure high-quality deliverables and cost-effective solutions.
Manage the department budget ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations Journalism or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in marketing communications or public relations with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans and multi-channel campaigns.
Strong writing editing and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in marketing technologies analytics tools and content management systems.
Proven success in managing teams and fostering a collaborative high-performance culture.
Preferred:
Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
Experience in higher education marketing and communications.
Knowledge of the Texas higher education landscape and familiarity with regional and national media networks.
Expertise in enrollment marketing fundraising communications and brand storytelling.
