Job Description

The Programs Manager at the Center for Catholic Studies will manage the Centers office student staff finances and all programs working closely with the Director and the staff of the three institutes to plan and implement an ongoing schedule of events including co-curricular programs co-sponsored activities faculty seminars conferences retreats workshops and public lectures all of which serve the students faculty staff and administration of Seton Hall as well as the local Church and the general public.

Under the Centers Director the Programs Manager will manage the coordination and disbursement of the Centers annual operating budget endowments and restricted funds. Assisting the Center Director the Programs Manager will coordinate with University Advancement for the purpose of promoting conducting and funding the various programs of the Center for Catholic Studies and its Institutes.

The Programs Manager is responsible for maintaining key partnerships dedicated to Catholic mission and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition across the university such as with the Center For Vocation and Servant Leadership Campus Ministry Center for Faculty Development the Catholic Studies Program the University Core and implementing other special projects including grant management planning assessment and reporting of projects according to grant guidelines and university policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Office Management. Manage the day-to-day business of the Center. Organize and maintain the office files lists equipment and reports. Hire and supervise student staff. Assist with other personnel matters as assigned.
Financial Management and Bookkeeping. Manage with appropriate university supervision the financial and business operations for the Center including contract processes budgeting restricted funds and endowments including expense management all purchases and payment processes.
Manage all Communications. Create develop and coordinate all ongoing communications of the Center including website and social media content university news stories email bulletins and periodic newsletter(s).
Coordinate all programs and events. Under the Center Director develop coordinate and implement all events from conception to completion and assessment. This includes programs retreats lectures events workshops and both small and large-scale conferences for students faculty and the local Church. Foster and develop strategic partnerships to advance and promote Catholic mission and identity on campus and in service to the local Church. With the Center Director plan and implement new programs as necessary. Assist with the integration of co-sponsored events across campus.
Other duties and Special Projects. Design plan and implement special programs including those with the Catholic Studies Consortium grant-funded projects mission integration initiatives and others as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

A B.A degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required. Familiarity with Catholic education mission and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition is required.
5-10 years administrative experience in a professional or management capacity is required preferably in a university or equivalent mission-driven organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills with advanced oral and written communication skills are required.
Strong organizational multi-project planning and cooperative management skills are required.
Strong computer and software skills and adaptability required. Knowledge of and facility with various social media platforms and relevant current communications methods required. List and data management skills required.

Desired Qualifications:

Masters degree or Ph.D. in Theology/Philosophy/Catholic Studies
Project or program management experience with knowledge of finances budgeting and or bookkeeping is highly desirable. Experience in a Catholic church diocese or school setting is preferred.
