DescriptionThe Procurement Specialist I role is responsible for documenting business processes facilitating stakeholder workshops and for generating process and procedure manuals and supporting the team members. The role requires continuous focus and overall ownership of the Supplier Pre-Qualification process and the related Supplier Portal. This role is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of data mining models from JD Edwards and other systems which ensure accurate and timely reporting of key performance (KPI) metrics and data analysis requirements.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What youll do
- Ownership of Seaspans supplier prequalification process including communicating with Suppliers Seaspan SCM stakeholders and internal supplier reviewers.
- Inspects and maintains the quality of questionnaire responses from suppliers and follows up with stakeholders as required.
- Controls the supplier statuses and renewals in Seaspans supplier Portal to make sure all key information and documentation is current and comprehensive.
- Prepares reports in Seaspans business intelligence application data modelling data analysis and data reporting to support supply chain KPI requirements.
- Supports the organizations Procure-To-Pay process and system including requisitioning Purchase Order Creation through to Payment Processing.
- Supports Supply Chain Managements activities within the Material Requirement Planning process and system.
- Develops KPIs and drives the improvement of KPI metrics for business processes making necessary changes to the application of KPI reporting to enhance business processes efficiency.
- Works with end-users and Business Intelligence reporting team (including SharePoint Integration) to define data warehouse requirements and specifications to support organizational supply chain needs.
- Administers maintains and supports existing supply chain reporting solutions.
- Works in cross-functional teams to identify and deliver process improvement initiatives that result in increases in efficiency.
- Documents process maps process and procedure manual(s) and user learning guides.
- Participates in the continued expansion of JD Edwards ERP/MRP System in the Purchasing and Inventory Modules.
- Supports the integration and change management/training of Supply Chain Management processes across Seaspan and extended business partners (suppliers customers finance operations legal risk etc.)
What youll bring
- Bachelors degree in Business Operations Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management and data warehousing data integration data mining and data reports writing (Business Objects Power BI SAP BI etc.).
- Ability to work with data from large and integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems preferably JDE Enterprise One (or equivalent).
- Ability to support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) solution preferably JDE Enterprise One applications.
- Understanding of data quality best practices and data integration concepts and techniques.
- Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical process control/analysis programs such as Six Sigma and Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management materials/procurement management and change management.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques and financial concepts to define and solve complex business problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective listening skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS-Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint/Visio/SharePoint) and Power BI.
- Adaptability and open-mindedness to change.
- Ability to work well under pressure problem solve and multi-task.
- Customer service orientation self-starter and initiative.

The estimated salary for this position is $73800 - $90200. In determining final salary Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidates skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Companys sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
