Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year residential liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities regionand its rural setting featuring 750 acres of wetlands bucolic forest and the states oldest and largest pecan grove.

RBC is seeking a highly organized and proactive Student Life Operations Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Office of Residence Life and Housing and the Office of Student Engagement. This position plays a key role in enhancing the student experience by providing comprehensive administrative support coordinating resources and contributing to the success of campus programs events and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide front desk coverage and serve as the first point of contact for student inquiries.
Manage general office operations including phone and email communications.
Schedule appointments and maintain organized filing systems.
Support procurement processes and assist with budget tracking and documentation.
Supervise student staff and provide guidance on daily responsibilities.
Facilitate student outreach and engagement initiatives to promote campus involvement.
Assist with housing operations including administrative support and coordination.
Provide administrative and operational support to both Residence Life and Student Engagement offices.
Assist with planning and execution of student programs events and initiatives.
Coordinate logistics and resources to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to housing and student engagement activities.
Serve as a liaison between departments to facilitate collaboration and communication.
Respond to student inquiries and provide guidance on housing and engagement-related matters.
Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse population of faculty staff and students utilizing at a high level of interpersonal skills and customer service principles
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of Student Life.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in administrative support
Experience with event planning and procurement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in eVA
Proficiency in The Housing Director (THD)


Additional Considerations

Associates or bachelors degree in a related field
Experience in administrative support in a higher education or student affairs setting
