Job Description

Midland University a private faith-based liberal arts university in Fremont Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an Advancement Gifts & Database Specialist. This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Gift entry and acknowledgement maintenance of proper documentation for all gifts batches pledges and fund agreements
  • Manages the Blackbaud donor database including setting database standards and importing data from other sources as needed to add constituents to the database in alignment with coding standards
  • Responsible for data integrity and health updates duplicate identification returned mail and merges as needed
  • Conducts database clean-up including reconciling constituent codes removing/combining duplicate records standardizing addresses and restructuring relationship codes to match needs of development and alumni functions. Uses database health tools to update addresses phone and email records and deceased information
  • Responsible for generating mailing lists based on selected parameters for fundraising and stewardship purposes
  • Creates reports for annual fund and campaigns as well as requested reports for the Business Office
  • Manages End-of-Year tax reporting and receipting process
  • Tracks alumni and fundraising events in Blackbaud including progress toward fundraising goals registrations and budget
  • Works with VP of Advancement and Director of Annual Giving to interpret IRS tax laws and regulations regarding gift administration
  • Ensures the secure handling storage and processing of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in compliance with organizational policies and data protection regulations
  • Manages ongoing updates and enhancements to fundraising databases and platforms ensuring data accuracy system efficiency and minimal disruption. Provide training and support to staff to help them adapt to new features and updated workflows
  • Imports new alumni annually based on export from student CRM
  • Records actions and documentation associated with constituents in Blackbaud Raisers Edge
  • Develops and maintains a policies and procedures manual as it relates to gift entry reporting and database management
  • Supports research for gift officers to identify prospects based on data analytics
  • Supports special events hosted by the Office of Institutional Advancement
  • Supports special fundraising initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of data entry CRM system management gift documentation or other related experience
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines work well in a team environment handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience in non-profit or higher education fundraising preferred
  • Specific training in development and fundraising preferred
  • Blackbaud Raisers Edge experience preferred

WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time position 40 hours per week
  • Opportunity for hybrid work upon agreement with VP of Advancement
