Job Description

Estimator Core Responsibilities
- Review initial plans specifications schedule lists and job opportunities with project managers
- Prepares construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials
- Identify qualified subcontractors and negotiate price
- Calculate take-offs when required with estimating software and scale methods
- Maintain job reports and estimating tracker
- Maintains quality service by following organizational standards
- Create submit and track RFIs as needed during bid/estimating process
- Work directly with architects engineers and designers when needed in creating value engineering alternates and changes within the department
- 5 years of Estimating experience with construction
- Proficient at Excel Word Outlook MS Project and various estimating software (Procore and AGTEK a plus)
- Great problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in reading and understanding plans
