Job Description

Description of Work

The produce warehouse distributes vast amounts of fresh produce and canned goods annually. Correctional facilities place orders weekly. The primary purpose of this Administrative Specialist I position is to assist management in ordering receiving and distributing produce usage orders from these facilities. These orders are processed and prepared for loading and shipping. Most products are purchased from various vendors but some produce is supplemented or provided by Enterprise Farm. This position must be able to coordinate functions prioritize work and assure management that tasks are performed and deadlines are addition to organizing work this employee will be involved in many duties simultaneously and repetitive. This position works Monday-Friday and the duty location is the Farm Administrative Office with periodic placement at the Produce Warehouse. Travel to other sites may be included to complete special assignments for additional training. Must be familiar with NCDAC (North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections) policies and procedures and be able to adapt and assist initiating changes to conform to policy/procedural changes.

Management Preference
  • Knowledge of services policies and procedures related to a program or area of specialization.

  • Ability to explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff.

  • Ability to compile assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information

  • Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs.

  • Experience in the use of the following software packages: Micro Soft Word Excel PowerPoint DBS(mainframe financial applications and reporting) NCFS AND BIDS.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
