Job Description

The Law Society of NSW is Australias largest and most influential membership association for solicitors. Were not all lawyers but we work together to support the legal profession and ensure a just society for all.

We are currently looking for a full time permanent Enquiry & Administration Officer to join our Registry team.

About the role

This is a customer service facing role that provides support to the legal profession and the public. This role is the first point of contact and responder to a high volume of incoming phone and email enquires received.

What youll be doing

  • Being the first point of contact to answer a high volume of telephone and email enquiries from the legal profession and the public relating to solicitor practising in NSW law practices and any other general enquiries.
  • Assist solicitors by telephone and email with online lodgement to renew a license.
  • Assisting with the basic maintenance of database records and data entry.
  • Prepare documents for a team of lawyers regarding applications for Certificates of Fitness.
  • General office duties including opening and sorting mail sending out mail-outs filing scanning and photocopying.
  • Provide back-up to the other staff members any other duties directed by the Manager or the Director Licensing and Registry.

About you

  • Previous customer service experience including proven experience managing a high volume of incoming telephone calls and emails.
  • Previous administration experience preferably gained in a legal/regulatory environment.
  • Previous database management experience / management of information records.
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and proficiency with e-mail internet and database applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply policies and regulations.
  • Ability to manage competing demands prioritise work and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisation planning and prioritising skills and an ability to plan and organise self to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Displays a commitment to high quality customer service values the supply of accurate and timely information and able to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
