Hometown Veterinary Hospital-Veterinary Assistant
Springfield MO
Full-time - 4 day work week - no weekends!
Availability needed-6:45a-6:00p
At Hometown Veterinary Hospital a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner we are committed to delivering high-quality compassionate care to the pets of southwest Missouri. As a four-doctor practice we provide both primary and urgent care services for dogs and cats supported by a wide range of diagnostics and treatments.

If you love animals and want to make a real difference in their lives (and the lives of their humans) were looking for a compassionate reliable and hard-working Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care treatments and procedures
- Safely handle animals of all sizes breeds and temperaments
- Lift push and pull up to 40 pounds
- Prepare exam rooms clean and sterilize equipment and maintain hospital cleanliness
- Monitor and care for animals before and after surgery
- Assist with lab work x-rays and medical record-keeping
- Provide excellent client communication and support
- Educate clients about products and services
- Collaborate with the medical team to support daily operations
- Follow protocols and procedures with consistency and fairness
- Process prescription refill requests
- Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in all interactions
- Work independently and efficiently
What Were Looking For:
- Previous veterinary or animal care experience is a plus (but well train the right person!)
- Exceptional customer service skills both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliability empathy and a genuine love for animals
- Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth
