LaCava Jacobson P.A. is a respected insurance defense firm based in Tampa FL known for its commitment to quality representation and collaborative team environment. We handle a wide range of general liability cases and are looking to grow our legal support team with an experienced and dependable paralegal.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a seasoned General Liability Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Florida civil procedure excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently while supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys in handling general liability matters including auto negligence premises liability and other personal injury cases

Review analyze and summarize medical records deposition transcripts and discovery documents

Draft and prepare subpoenas discovery responses and legal correspondence

Coordinate with expert witnesses clients court personnel and opposing counsel

Manage deadlines maintain case calendars and track case progress

Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits witness lists and trial binders

Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files using document management systems
Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in general liability and/or insurance defense litigation

Strong understanding of Florida court rules and e-filing procedures

Proficient in legal technology platforms such as iManage Neos and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload

Paralegal certificate or degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience

Ability to work independently and take initiative
Work Arrangement:
This position is onsite for the first 90 days to ensure full integration training and evaluation of workflow.
After 90 days a hybrid schedule (2 days remote 3 days onsite with set days) may be offered depending on:

The employee s ability to work independently and productively

Adequate workload to remain fully billable while working remotely

Consistent performance and reliability
If these conditions are not met hybrid flexibility may be postponed reduced to 1 day remote or withheld at the firm s discretion.
