Position Summary: The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides health care services X-Rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs X-Ray procedures and related techniques producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed Qualifications:RequiredGraduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or Licensure (Radiology Technologist)American registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) R) R.T.(R)American Heart Association BLS within three months of hireOne (1) year of previous radiology experience may include clinical internship experienceDemonstrate competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the OR Trauma and portable radiography within 6-months including services to NICU CCU and EDPreferredEssential Job Functions:In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements Bozeman Health policy and other registry radiographic exams as requested by all healthcare providersPerforms fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providerPerforms US guided paracentesis thoracentesis and arthrocentesis alongside radiology providersPerforms patient education for patient prep and post care of radiology proceduresAssists radiology nursing with fluoroscopically guided PICC placementsPerforms c-arm fluoroscopy exams in the OR as requested by surgeonsCompletes documentation required for proper interpretation reporting archiving and retrieval of examsPerforms ancillary duties required to maintain proper distribution billing and archival of exams and proceduresRetrieves written orders and related health informationParticipates in the implementation monitoring and improvement of the hospital quality indicatorsEducates radiography students new hires and radiology techs on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance examsEducation requirements per DNV Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates sound judgment patience and maintains a professional demeanor at all timesExercises tact discretion sensitivity and maintains confidentialityPerforms essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environmentLearns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman HealthStrong interpersonal verbal and written communication skillsAnalyzes organizes and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlinesWorks varied shifts as scheduled and/or neededPhysical RequirementsLifting Pushing and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient assist with bedside needs etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child transfer a patient etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR physically restrain patient etc.)Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods requiring sitting walking or standing for eight or more hours Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek including weekends and after-hours -Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs Communication: Proficient in effective communication both in person and through various Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities. ExposuresTasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:Bloodborne pathogens such as blood bodily fluids or in settings where medical imaging procedures are performedVarious chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products disinfectants and other diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnessesEmotionally challenging situations such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.**Facility reserves the right to cancel three (3) shifts per 13-week contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances.**
