Description

Learning Specialist Assistant

A Learning Specialist Assistant is a member of the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) who works closely with the CAE Learning Specialists Director and Assistant Director of CAE students teachers and families to support student success. This individual helps facilitate day-to-day learning for students receiving learning support including instructional and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable student-focused collaborative and eager to contribute to a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
Assist Learning Specialists with student sessions materials management and maintaining a structured supportive learning environment
Support the delivery of small-group and one-on-one instruction in reading and math through modeling guided practice and targeted reinforcement
Provide push-in support and help facilitate small-group learning and progress monitoring in collaboration with teachers and specialists
Manage logistical tasks related to CAE programming including scheduling materials prep room setup and communication
Participate in CAE team meetings and relevant school-based professional development

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Experience working in a school setting or with students in a support or instructional role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organized flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
A collaborative team player with a student-first mindset a love of learning and a genuine joy in supporting student growth
Positive attitude warm presence and a willingness to learn and grow alongside others

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate similar to a standard school environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Cognitive and Emotional Requirements: The candidate must be able to analyze reason and problem-solve effectively. The ability to manage multiple priorities maintain emotional control under stress and communicate clearly and professionally is essential.
