Job Description

Purchasing Assistant


Based in our Stockton on Tees Office


Permanent Part-time 22.5 hours

If so we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading well respected water technologies company where you will play a pivotal role in working alongside the Purchasing team and being involved in supporting all relevant operational administrative tasks.

Some brief responsibilities of a Purchasing Assistant will include:

  • Raising purchase requisition orders

  • Raising stock orders

  • Maintaining purchase order and shortage reports

  • Checking order acknowledgements for discrepancies

  • Maintaining price list database

  • Liaising with suppliers and internal customers

  • Making judgements based on the analysis of factual information

  • Reconciliation of Vendor statements

  • Assisting internal customers with invoice / PO queries

  • Regular review of Aged creditor reports and investigation and resolution of credit balances

  • Ad-hoc duties as required by Credit Control and AP Manager

  • Answering internal and external queries by telephone and email

 

General requirements for the role:

  • Previous purchasing or administrative experience

  • Strong IT skills - experience of Google suite would be an advantage

  • Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative

  • Able to remain calm under pressure

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of JDE Latis would be preferable
