The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all activities within the warehouse facility ensuring optimal efficiency safety and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role demands a high level of professionalism attention to detail and strategic thinking to maintain the integrity of warehouse operations.
SALARY RANGE: $85000 - $95000 (Based on Experience)
SHIFT: M-F 7:30am - 5:00pm and Weekends as needed
Warehouse Management and Operational Oversight
- Establish and implement comprehensive operational procedures for the verification of incoming and outgoing shipments material handling and inventory management to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement and oversee rigorous cycle counting and annual physical inventory processes utilizing advanced inventory systems and software to maintain precise inventory control.
- Strategically manage team member tasks and responsibilities to ensure the reception storage and loading of food products and support goods are executed in strict accordance with established company standards procedures budgetary guidelines and dispatch accuracy goals.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility by meticulously controlling departmental costs and preparing detailed budgets for Director review.
- Compile and analyze critical warehouse performance metrics including the weekly key indicator summary and other essential statistics on daily weekly and monthly bases to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement and oversee sustainable practices including the identification and management of recyclable materials.
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance ensuring strict adherence to OSHA standards company policies and all applicable local state and federal regulations.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills by identifying potential issues and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular thorough inspections of warehouse equipment to ensure optimal functionality and condition addressing any deficiencies promptly.
- Oversee and enforce stringent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse and surrounding areas to maintain a professional and efficient work environment.
- Ensure the department consistently meets and exceeds audit and 5S standards through rigorous preparation and ongoing maintenance.
- Conduct periodic store visits to monitor product quality and maintain high standards across the supply chain.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in all aspects of warehouse operations and business information.
- Foster and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships promoting a collaborative team-oriented environment across production warehouse maintenance and delivery and service departments.
- Stay abreast of external regulatory audit standards and procedures ensuring the warehouse remains compliant with all relevant regulations.
- Enforce strict adherence to all Trailer-Dock-Release (TDR) policies and procedures to maintain the highest levels of safety and efficiency.
- Ensure all Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operators receive comprehensive training and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without exception.
Team Management and Development
- Implement a structured coaching program for team members who are not meeting performance goals while also developing and executing a recognition system to reward exemplary performance.
- Conduct daily team member meetings to disseminate critical information regarding safety precautions performance metrics policy updates and other pertinent matters.
- Oversee the recruitment interview hiring and training processes for all new team members with a focus on comprehensive safety training and strategies to minimize team member turnover.
- Assume full responsibility for warehouse safety and accuracy metrics implementing continuous improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Maintain meticulous oversight of time clock punches addressing any discrepancies and approving Paid Time Off (PTO) requests in accordance with company policies.
- When operational demands require perform warehouse team member tasks to meet critical goals not to exceed 20% of total work time.
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the salvage process for damaged or used materials ensuring compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Participate in Leadership & Development training sessions to continually enhance managerial skills and stay current with industry best practices.
- Meticulously verify and validate timecards and manage working schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels and labor cost management.
- Thoroughly review and validate contracts and accounts payable to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.
- Proactively manage warehouse supplies ensuring adequate stock for daily operations and placing orders as needed to prevent disruptions.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with temporary staffing agencies to address fluctuating workforce needs effectively.
- Demonstrate the ability to make rapid well-informed decisions while engaging in deliberate planning for long-term warehouse growth and efficiency.
- Implement a structured mentoring program to foster the professional development of team members and build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with Center of Excellence (COE) departments including talent acquisition finance quality assurance and safety to ensure alignment with company-wide objectives.
- Execute additional duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Director with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree with emphasis in distribution warehouse logistics retail or transportation. Some college plus equivalent work experience may be accepted. Preferably in the food warehouse manufacturing or retail industry
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience in a warehouse manufacturing distribution or retail environment
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Proven ability to develop and lead team members in meeting goals and objectives
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive and results oriented demeanor
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of asset management procedures and information used to optimize inventory levels and/or fill rates
- Solid experience in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work a full-time/flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Willingness to support a 24-hour operation and be on call including carrying an emergency cell phone as needed
- Proven experience in quality and safety
- Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and follow-through skills
- Maintain forklift certification
- Availability to travel as needed
- Must successfully pass a background checks every third year on your anniversary date
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. perform heavy pushing/pulling of product work in refrigerated conditions 33-38 degrees extreme heat and work in environment with exposure to loud machinery when necessary
- Must be able to work around yeast and flour
