As the hotel enters a new phase of expansion they are seeking an experienced Accountant to play a pivotal role in guiding and managing this growth.
This position is ideal for an innovative solutions-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
The Accountant will oversee the hotel s financial operations ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations prepare accurate and timely financial reports manage budgets monitor cash flow and provide strategic financial insights to support profitability and long-term success.
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and present monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
Prepare profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow reports.
Ensure timely submission of all statutory returns to relevant authorities.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management.
Monitor revenue and expenses against budgets investigating variances.
Recommend strategies for cost efficiency and revenue growth.
Payroll & Staff Payments
Oversee preparation and processing of payroll in compliance with Nigerian labour laws.
Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard hotel assets.
Conduct periodic audits of financial transactions and revenue streams.
Ensure compliance with financial laws tax regulations and hotel accounting standards.
Cash & Bank Management
Supervise cash handling procedures and bank reconciliations.
Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the front office food & beverage and procurement departments to track revenues and costs.
Advise management on the financial implications of business decisions.
Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related field (ICAN/ACCA qualification preferred).
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferably in the hospitality industry.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage QuickBooks Oracle Hospitality).
Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity confidentiality and professionalism.
