Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team at St. Jeromes University in Waterloo Ontario. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service establishment.
- Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored in their designated areas
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area including regular cleaning of machines and work surfaces
- Assist in keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitary
- Support kitchen staff by restocking clean dishes and utensils as needed
- Unload and store deliveries in appropriate storage areas
- Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly
- Sweep and mop floors paying special attention to spills and potential hazards
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Assist with other kitchen tasks as assigned by the management team
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
Qualifications :
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to collaborate with kitchen staff and maintain a positive attitude
- Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
