Organizational Relationship

or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the CTE Supervisor K-12 the Principal in all matters pertaining to the building and to the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designee.

Job Description

The Work-Based Learning Liaison will support the Work-Based Learning Lead and play a key support role in implementing and managing all Work-Based Learning (WBL) activities within CVTE/CTE programs. This position works collaboratively with students educators families and community partners to ensure high-quality equitable and career-connected learning experiences through Career Awareness Exploration and Immersion opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Coordination and Support

  • Support the daily operations of WBL programming across all CVTE/CTE pathways.
  • Assist with grant-related tasks including data management reporting and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure student accident insurance is purchased and tracked for all internship students.
  • Create maintain and organize WBL-related documents forms and digital databases.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain 4-year WBL program calendars.
  • Maintain the physical and digital Student Job Board.
  • Help plan and execute the Annual Job Fair.
  • Assist with DESE and DPH-required annual self-assessments and strategic action plans.
  • Support DESE Coordinated Program Review preparations and follow-up related to WBL.

Community Partnerships

  • Assist the Work-Based Learning Lead in building and sustaining strategic community partnerships.
  • Conduct worksite visits and complete necessary safety and CORI protocols.
  • Participate in CVTE/CTE Program Advisory Committees and PLC meetings.
  • Maintain active communication with organizations such as MakeIT Haverhill the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and MassHire.
  • Support the development of marketing materials and outreach strategies to promote WBL opportunities.

Student and Family Engagement

  • Communicate clearly with students and families about WBL expectations and requirements by grade level.
  • Guide students in developing key career readiness skills such as resume writing interviewing and workplace etiquette.
  • Assist in student recruitment and support portfolio development throughout the four-year WBL sequence.
  • Participate in family engagement events including CTE Kick-Off Nights and Completion Celebrations.

Career Awareness

  • Support the coordination of guest speaker events career fairs and site tours aligned to learning objectives.
  • Assist with the implementation of career interest inventories labor market research and MyCAP planning.
  • Document and communicate student reflections and business partner feedback.

Career Exploration

  • Help coordinate job shadow days workshops and career-focused events like the Annual Interview Challenge.
  • Provide one-on-one career coaching and exploration support.
  • Facilitate student participation in community-based career exploration projects.
  • Support documentation of reflections and career learning outcomes.

Career Immersion

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the Internship Program.
  • Ensure students meet eligibility requirements and are prepared for placement (including safety training and career readiness).
  • Help recruit internship sites place students and maintain ongoing contact with worksite mentors.
  • Track internship progress including time sheets evaluations and final student presentations.
  • Maintain organized records and support the planning of end-of-program recognition events.
  • Assist students and staff in identifying mentors for capstone projects and community involvement

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Prior experience working with community partners to provide WBL activities
  • Experience Creating Databases and Tracking Statistical Information
  • Salary based on 36 hours per week. Must be flexible and able to respond to students and worksites outside of school hours and able to attend evening and weekend events based on student and business needs.
