What you will do
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Transformation Delivery Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outcome-focused individual with great problem-solving and communication skills to join us where agile projects are delivered across the full lifecycle to required cost timescale and quality parameters. You will work closely with Scottish Water Transformation Delivery Teams linked to the Transformation Programme supporting the delivery of projects and programmes of work.
In this role you will engage directly with customers to gather document and prioritise change requests related to our publishing systems by conducting discovery sessions interviews and surveys to capture needs pain points and expectations. You will analyse existing publishing workflows identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks and propose optimised solutions collaborating with technical teams to ensure that changes align with system capabilities and scalability needs. You will proactively provide updates to stakeholders highlight risks and manage changes to project scope. Your responsibilities will also include creating detailed business requirement documents user stories and process flow diagrams to clearly communicate customer needs along with the standard operating procedures that sit behind them. You will maintain and update product documentation ensuring that all changes are tracked and requirements met while working closely with customers and technical teams to define testing and acceptance criteria.
You will support solution design and implementation by working with developers project managers and quality assurance teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements and are delivered on time. This includes providing functional support during design testing and implementation phases assisting in user acceptance testing and verifying that deliverables meet expectations. Post-implementation you will continue to support customers with training and troubleshooting gathering feedback analysing system performance and recommending future improvements. You will also play a role in developing benefits realisation plans to ensure the benefits set out in business cases are achieved.
What youll bring
To succeed you must be able to manage large amounts of data in Excel using pivot tables creating graphs and applying great attention to detail as a highly engaged team member who works naturally in an agile environment.
It would be advantageous to have an understanding of operational functions and experience in creating and maintaining Power BI reports. You should be self-motivated possess excellent self-management skills be an excellent communicator and team player be open-minded and willing to learn approach problems creatively and work inclusively while scrutinising detail. You will have access to an extensive development plan including Lean Agile and BPMN2 training. The successful candidate must share our passion for transforming our business have a strong understanding of transformation projects and business change processes and demonstrate excellent people skills.

This role is Grade 6 with a starting salary of 36410 for new joiners progressing through to a maximum of 46990 based on performance. Applications will be accepted until the amended date of midnight on 22 August 2025.
