Position Summary
Build and maintain strong partnerships with local employers business organizations and community organizations to develop job opportunities and arrange the direct placement of job seekers matching the job skills with applicant qualifications. Responsible for the delivery of outcome-based integrated employment services designed to help job seekers connect to in demand job opportunities. Support job seekers to overcome barriers and achieve and retain sustainable employment outcomes. Work with employers to align their hiring needs with job seeker skills and interests ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties:
Develop and maintain employer relationships with business and industry representatives to set up recruitment profiles provide orientations develop and facilitate information sessions and provide employment related programing to meet the needs of local job seekers and employers.
Maintain up to date information regarding industry trends and updates labor market information by researching online resources attending meetings maintaining contacts with regional community colleges and networking with professional/community organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities.
Build and maintain professional relationships with employers and community agencies.
Attend networking events in Lambton County and proactively build relationships with employers to identify opportunities that align with participants skills and experiences.
Conduct employer needs analyses to identify opportunities for collaboration.
Arrange and oversee experiential opportunities such as job trials job shadows and on-the-job training.
Work with employers to facilitate and negotiate training agreements including training objectives and financial incentives.
Provide individualized on-the-job supports and services to employers and job seekers
Organize and attend career fairs and employer events to promote employment opportunities and the Lambton Works Centre
Conduct follow-up activities as required by the Ministry to verify employment milestones and document in appropriate technology including the Employment Ontario Information Systems Case Management System (EOIS-CaMS) or other provided technologies.
Ensure responsible expenditure of public funds by monitoring and reviewing eligibility and issue financial benefits to participants.
Create marketing materials including brochures flyers digital content and social media posts to promote employment opportunities and programs.
General:
Incumbents must keep up to date on all relevant legislation collective bargaining agreements County Policies and Procedures etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed.
Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the positions Physical Demands Analysis
Incumbents must be willing to work flexible hours of work including evenings and weekends.

Credentials Required
Minimum Formal Education
University degree or College Diploma in Business Administration/Business Marketing Social Work or Social Sciences program or Public Administration a relevant discipline
Experience
A minimum of two to four years experience or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experiential learning
Experience working in Employment Services and/or Human Services in a job developer or job coach position is considered an asset.
Ability to source and contact new employers to develop and maintain good working relationships with employers.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to maintain excellent professional working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations in a multi-cultural environment and establish rapport with clients facing multiple employment barriers.
Strong interpersonal teamwork and relationship building skills to develop and maintain partnerships and collaborations with Social Services staff and external stakeholders as required.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) or similar software programs.
Proficiency working in an automated environment and the ability to learn new software programs.
Working knowledge of Employment Ontario Information Systems Case Management (EOIS-CaMs) WREN Jobs Portal and agenda scheduling tools.
A valid Ontario drivers license and use of a vehicle.
