Job Description
Job Title: Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer Contract to Hire
Location: Remote (Preferred Central Time Zone)
Duration: 6-month contract with possible conversion to full-time
Shift: 8 AM to 5 PM CST (must be willing to work CST hours)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AVD and experience in rolling out the platform on a global scale. Familiarity with Azure Local and Nerdio is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the global rollout and deployment of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments across multiple regions.
- Design implement and support AVD infrastructure to meet organisational needs.
- Collaborate with core DaaS (Desktop as a Service) teams primarily based in the Central Time Zone (Chicago).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AVD environments to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AVD solutions with other Azure services.
- Provide expertise on Azure Local deployments to optimise performance and compliance.
- Utilise Nerdio management tools to streamline AVD provisioning and management (preferred).
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior AVD Engineer with hands-on expertise in designing and deploying Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.
- Experience with global AVD deployments and scaling across multiple regions.
- Working knowledge of Azure Local is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Nerdio platform for managing AVD environments is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience managing complex AVD environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote collaborative team environment.
