We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscape Spray Technician to join our team at Maldonado. The Spray Technician will be responsible for the application and management of chemical treatments and the installation maintenance and repair of irrigation systems to maintain and enhance the health and appearance of our clients commercial landscapes. This role requires a strong understanding of pesticides herbicides fertilizers irrigation systems and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and apply pesticides and herbicides to control weeds pests and diseases affecting plants and lawns.

  • Ensure proper calibration and operation of application equipment for even and effective chemical distribution

  • Mix and apply fertilizers to promote healthy plant growth tailored to the specific nutrient requirements of various plants and soils.

  • Collect soil samples and conduct tests to determine soil composition and pH levels.

  • Analyze test results to develop treatment plans addressing soil deficiencies.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of chemicals ensuring safe storage and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

  • Order and stock necessary chemicals keeping detailed records of usage.

  • Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations related to chemical use and environmental protection.

  • Follow safety protocols and regulations for handling and applying chemicals including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Maintain and repair chemical application equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.

  • Calibrate equipment to apply the correct amount of chemicals.

  • Communicate with clients about chemical treatments their benefits and any necessary safety precautions.

  • Educate clients on landscape maintenance practices between treatments.

  • Implement IPM strategies to minimize chemical use and focus on sustainable long-term pest and disease control.

  • Monitor landscapes for signs of pest or disease problems and take appropriate action.

  • Document all chemical applications including types and amounts of chemicals used dates of application and treatment areas.

  • Maintain records for regulatory compliance and track the effectiveness of treatments.

  • Promote environmentally responsible practices such as using organic or low-toxicity products when possible.

  • Ensure chemical applications do not negatively impact surrounding environments including water sources and non-target plants and animals.

  • Be willing to cross-train in the future to complete irrigation technician duties as needed

Qualifications Required

- 2 years of experience involving chemical spraying/fertilization

- Irrigation experience is a plus

- Valid Texas Drivers License
