What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees physicians and partners in care. What Youll Do
- Act as a primary contact and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to plan design implement and support clinical functionality within WAHAs Hospital Information System (HIS)
- Lead or support the redesign of clinical workflows to integrate digital health tools effectively
- Conduct workflow assessments gap analyses and system/user needs evaluations
- Facilitate change management and user adoption strategies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure evidence-based practices are embedded in digital solutions
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives through data-driven insights
- Implement system improvements and maintain Electronic Health Records Digital Health Tools and other clinical Information systems
- Ensure interoperability between clinical information systems across care settings
Who You Are
- Demonstrate knowledge of working with First Nations Communities and act a champion for change in underserved populations
- Demonstrate proficiency with clinical information systems and EHR/EMR platforms (MEDITECH Expanse & TELUS Practice Solutions)
- Demonstrates in-depth understanding of clinical workflows across various care settings (Emergency Acute Primary Care Ambulatory Clinics Surgery Mental Health & Addictions Remote Nursing Stations)
- Familiarity with Health data standards such as HL7 FHIR SNOMED CT LONIC and ICD-10-CA
- Demonstrate knowledge of Ontarios digital health landscape including Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) virtual care and services
What You Bring
- Diploma in Health Informatics and/or Information Technology an asset
- Bachelors degree (4 year) in related Health Care Field (Health Informatics Health Information Management Nursing Healthcare Administration Computer Science etc)
- Masters degree in a related health care field (i.e. Health Informatics Helth Information Management Nursing Health Administration) an asset.
- Current certificate of registration in good standing with a regulatory college
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- Minimum 1 year of Clinical Informatics/Information Technology an asset
- Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset
