Job Description
Our client in the Agricultural Industry is looking for a Accountant in Grabouw.
The Accountant provides financial clarity control and insight to support decision-making. This role ensures financial integrity compliance and accurate records enabling agility transparency and long-term sustainability.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable:Process supplier invoices and customer payments; reconcile accounts; manage credit terms; follow up on outstanding balances.
General Ledger & Cash Book:Maintain and reconcile records in line with accounting policies.
Fixed Assets:Track acquisitions disposals and depreciation in compliance with standards.
Tax Compliance:Prepare and submit VAT returns and other SARS documentation accurately and on time.
Month-End & Reporting:Support month-end close prepare journal entries accruals reconciliations financial statements and management reports.
Team Support:Review colleagues financial work; provide guidance as needed.
Collaboration:Partner with operations procurement and management to align processes track costs and monitor budgets.
Audit Prep:Maintain complete organized audit-ready records and assist with audits.
Requirements
in Accounting/Finance (essential); SAIPA/SAICA affiliation (advantageous).
5 years accounting or bookkeeping experience covering the full cycle.
Strong skills in AP/AR bank reconciliations ledger maintenance fixed assets and tax compliance.
Proficient in accounting software (Syspro experience preferred).
Able to work independently and within a small high-performing team.
