Your opportunity
Were looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our team in Dubbo and Broken Hill to play a vital role in creating safer futures for women children and families. These positions offer the opportunity to be at the heart of meaningful behaviour change working directly with men who have used violence or abuse in intimate partner relationships to help them take responsibility and make lasting changes.
Through Mannin Up a registered Mens Behaviour Change Program youll guide participants in recognising the impact of their actions breaking cycles of violence and building the skills strategies and self-awareness needed to foster respectful relationships. The program also supports men in understanding respect healthy parenting after violence and developing attitudes that contribute to safer more supportive homes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Deliver registered mens behaviour change programs in both group and individual settings.
- Conduct thorough and robust assessments of family violence and risk factors creating individualised support plans.
- Liaise with the Department of Communities and Justice Police Courts and other support services as required.
- Work alongside the Women and Childrens Advocate to ensure the safety of women and children.
Requirements for success
- Relevant Qualification and / or relevant experience in the Community services industry
- Experience working in the community service sector particularly with DV or Justice and a thorough understanding of the impacts of violence within intimate partner relationships.
- Accredited Training in Mens Behaviour Change Program or willing to complete provided training.
- Experience in the delivery of group-based intervention programs
- Interviewing skills and experience in the use of Motivational Interactions (favourable)
- Good communications skills both written and spoken.
- Current NSW Driving License
Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
