Job Description

Variable Air Volume (VAV) Installer

We are seeking a skilled Variable Air Volume Installer to join our team supporting commercial and industrial projects primarily in data center environments. This role focuses on installing mounting and connecting VAV boxes and associated components to ensure proper airflow and temperature control without programming responsibilities. You will work closely with project managers supervisors and other trades to deliver quality installations on schedule while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install mount and connect VAV boxes including control/thermostat wiring and functional testing.
  • Install air diffusers grilles registers and terminal devices.

  • Perform low-voltage wiring for controls devices sensors and boxes (no programming required).

  • Run copper overhead and apply proper cabling and electrical practices to install VAV systems.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with VAV systems and related components.

  • Repair or replace valves piping and other mechanical or control components.

  • Test and balance building systems to verify proper airflow and temperature control.

  • Support the installation repair and replacement of other HVAC components such as AHUs chillers and heat pumps.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA NEC and all applicable safety regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors other trades and project managers to ensure timely quality work.

  • Keep the work area clean safe and organized at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of HVAC principles VAV systems and basic building automation system concepts.
  • Proven ability to install and connect VAV boxes and associated components.

  • Willingness to learn troubleshooting and repair techniques for VAV systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints mechanical drawings and project specifications.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Commitment to following all company and job site safety procedures.

  • Physically able to perform tasks including lifting working at heights and handling various HVAC components.

Compensation

  • $22 to $26 per hour depending on experience and a successful interview.
