Job Description

Overview

As the only not-for-profit faith-based healthcare system in the area Dignity Health Nevada guided by the Adrian Dominican Sisters vision for over 70 years continues to serve the Henderson and Las Vegas communities. The Siena Campus a 326-bed acute care hospital opened in 2000 expanded the services of the Rose de Lima Campus to meet growing healthcare needs. St. Rose Dominican is part of Dignity Health one of the nations largest healthcare systems with over 9000 physicians 60000 team members and 400 care centers across 22 states including hospitals urgent care imaging and surgery centers home health and primary care clinics. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under direction of the Materials Management Manager/Supervisor receives and distributes hospital equipment supplies and mail. Prepares equipment and supplies for shipping as needed. Performs daily counts of par-level locations via hand-held technology approved supply storage system or materials management information system. Performs data entry of stock items issued from inventory. Maintains hospital inventory and materials management work areas in a clean and orderly manner. Participates in inventory/cycle counting process per department procedure. This position is represented by SEIU Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

  • Complies with facility policies and procedures on customer satisfaction and service excellence. Demonstrates professionalism and cultural sensitivity in coordinating activities and communicating with all customers peers and the community at large.
  • Conducts self in a professional respectful and courteous manner during all interactions. Works effectively and collaboratively with others toward common goals.
  • Communicates accurately honestly supportively and in a timely manner with department and interdepartmental team members. Demonstrates effective business writing and oral communication skills handwriting is clear and legible.
  • Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains/participates in performance improvement activities within the department
  • Participates in all departmental specific training Environment of Care (injury/illness prevention fire/life safety hazardous materials emergency preparedness utilities management medical equipment management safety and security management) infection control (standard precautions TB Exposure Control Plan Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows safety practices. Understands the importance of safety including patient safety in the work place. Maintains a safe environment for self and others.
  • Actively participates in the Patient Safety Program including event reporting. Identifies sentinel events/near misses and responds per defined organization processes. Participates in education activities and process implementation. Demonstrates advocacy for the patient/customer and appropriately acknowledges patients customers and visitors.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Meets minimum competencies of Materials Management Tech I.
  • Three to six (3 to 6) months ofinventory management experience.
  • An understanding of large ERP systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word Outlook and basic computer operations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in English.
  • Good numerical skills a must. Sound customer service techniques andpractices ability to communicate in a professional and articulate manner withinternal and external partners at all levels both verbal and written remain calm and courteous while handling problems comfortable as a team member and informational leader knowledge of Materials Management.
  • DRV LIC Drivers license - State: Must possess a valid Nevada State Drivers License.

Preferred:

  • Six to twelve (6 to 12) months related work experience in a hospital stockroom or warehouse.
  • Forklift operation certification and/or experience.
