Position Summary
F5 Inc. is actively searching for a dynamic and accomplished PE/Sr. PE (Individual Contributor) to join our team and lead the scale sizing and performance engineering efforts for the revolutionary F5XC Distributed Cloud SaaS Platform.
As a pivotal team member you will spearhead the entire F5XC Sizing of Scale initiative utilizing your expertise to devise inventive methodologies for assessing high-scale globally distributed systems.
Your role involves delving into the core components of F5XC including Control Configuration and Data Planes understanding their configurations for achieving global scale. Subsequently you will formulate a systematic approach to test these components both in isolation and within an end-to-end SaaS offering accommodating various combinations of features.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Ownership: Spearhead the F5XC Scale/Performance effort demonstrating a commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving unprecedented scalability.
Innovative Methodologies: Pioneer inventive methodologies for measuring highly scaled globally distributed systems showcasing your ability to think outside the box.
Framework Development: Craft a robust framework of tools and best practices ensuring that each release adheres to high-quality and scale conditions thereby setting new industry benchmarks.
Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate closely with component owners to gain insights into the design and implementation of various SaaS components actively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Performance Optimization: Stress-test applications and profile performance to uncover existing behavior and bottlenecks contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the F5XC platform.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Test Automation Advocate: Showcase a strong commitment to test automation backed by a proven track record in this critical area.
Networking Proficiency: Demonstrate excellent hands-on knowledge of networking fundamentals coupled with practical experience in Kubernetes environments.
Coding Prowess: Exhibit hands-on expertise in Python/Golang emphasizing your ability to navigate and contribute to the codebase effectively.
Security Acumen: Understanding of Network and Application Security (WAAP) is a definite plus showcasing your holistic approach to system robustness.
Technical Insight: Possess a solid understanding of L2/L3 networking and routing protocols complemented by familiarity with the Linux Networking stack and Linux performance tuning parameters.
Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree or 12 years and a Masters degree or equivalent experience.
Excellent organizational agility and communication skills throughout the organization.

The annual base pay for this position is: $143400.00 - $215200.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience geographic locations and market conditions as well as to reflect F5s differing products industries and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
