Role Overview
As a Project Accountant you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of client and internal projects. You will ensure accurate budgeting forecasting reporting and compliance with financial controls. This role is critical in supporting project delivery teams with real-time financial insights and ensuring the financial success of each engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage project budgets forecasts and actuals.
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for project stakeholders.
- Track project costs revenue recognition and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies.
- Collaborate with project managers to align financial planning with project milestones.
- Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Support billing invoicing and cash flow tracking for projects.
- Maintain accurate records of project-related financial transactions.
- Assist in financial audits and internal reviews related to project accounting.

- ACA ACCA or CIMA qualified or equivalent.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in project accounting or financial management.
- Strong understanding of budgeting forecasting and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- ACCA ACA or CIMA qualification (fully qualified).
- Additional certifications (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) are a plus.
Career Path (3-5 Years)
- Year 3: Manage financials for multiple projects and support advisory teams.
- Year 4: Lead financial planning for strategic projects and mentor junior staff.
- Year 5: Progress to Senior Project Accountant or Finance Business Partner.
