Job Title:Skilled Maintenance Technician
Location: Ellesmere Port
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: 53000 plus benefits (bonus healthcare sharesave)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our clients team bringing expertise in maintaining complex mechanical systems in high-hazard environments. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and safety of plant assets supporting production goals and upholding the highest standards of compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance inspection and repair of mechanical plant equipment including pumps gearboxes valves heat exchangers and agitators.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Work in accordance with statutory regulatory and internal safety and quality standards.
- Support the development of apprentices and less experienced team members.
- Participate in safety efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and work safely in all weather conditions and confined spaces.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- BTEC (ONC) City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant mechanical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience post-apprenticeship on a COMAH site (preferably Top Tier).
- High Risk Confined Space (NC4) Asbestos Awareness (CAR 2012) and Mechanical Joint Integrity certification (ECITB or equivalent).
- Proficient in SAP S4HANA and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Attributes:
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexible proactive and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience working with hazardous materials and understanding of Basis of Safety (BoS) principles.
