A Mental Health Worker provides care support and assistance to individuals experiencing mental health issues. This role involves working closely with patients clinical staff and families to ensure the well-being safety and recovery of individuals under care. The position may be based in hospitals residential facilities community centres or outreach programs.

Support clients with daily living activities such as hygiene meals and social interactions.
Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment or care plans developed by mental health professionals.
Observe and document client behaviour mood and progress reporting significant changes to the clinical team.
Promote a safe therapeutic environment through de-escalation techniques and adherence to safety protocols.
Participate in group and individual therapeutic activities under supervision.
Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary.
Help clients develop coping skills and access community resources.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organizational and legal guidelines.
Collaborate with psychologists social workers nurses and psychiatrists as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and compassionate in stressful situations.
CPR and First Aid certification (may be required).
Background check and relevant clearances (as required by employer or state law).
May include hospitals crisis settings residential treatment centres outpatient clinics or community settings. Work may involve shifts including nights weekends and holidays.
