Zink continues to grow and due to our continued success we are hiring an experienced Coating Line Process Operator to work in our Whitsett NC location.
We will provide the training and the tools that you need to be successful in your position. This is a fast-paced job working as part of a team and there is plenty of work to accomplish. We can offer you a great place to work with awesome employees to work with. The work is not difficult but requires attention to detail and employees who are quality minded.
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Thursday Hours of work typically begin at 6:00 a.m. to batch finish on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursdays are typically a shorter day. Standard hours are Monday Thursday 4 Ten hour shifts. A great Zink perk is you will always enjoy every Friday Saturday and Sunday off. You read that correctly. You will never have to work on a weekend!

Position Summary
The Coating Line Process Operator is responsible for operating monitoring and maintaining equipment used in continuous web manufacturing processes. This role ensures that substrates such as films foils papers or fabrics are coated laminated printed or treated to meet product specifications while following all safety and quality standards.
Machine Operation: Operate and monitor web-based production equipment including unwind/rewind systems coating stations laminators dryers and curing systems.
Process Control: Set and adjust line speeds web tension coating/laminating weights drying/curing temperatures and other process parameters according to product specifications and SOPs.
Quality Monitoring: Inspect the web during production for defects such as streaks wrinkles misalignment coating voids or surface irregularities; take corrective action when needed.
Material Handling: Load and splice raw material rolls and unload finished rolls using hoists or lift equipment.
Troubleshooting: Identify and correct operational issues coordinating with maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs quality inspection records and downtime reports.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all plant safety rules including PPE requirements lockout/tagout procedures and safe chemical handling practices.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring safe walkways and equipment accessibility.
Teamwork: Communicate effectively with team members quality control and supervisors to ensure smooth operation and consistent product quality.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training in manufacturing processes preferred.
1 years of experience in manufacturing; prior experience with web handling coating printing or laminating equipment preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of continuous web manufacturing processes and equipment.
Ability to read job orders work instructions and measurement tools such as calipers micrometers or gauges.
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat noise and chemical vapors.
Requires standing walking bending and lifting rolls or equipment parts up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to wear PPE such as safety glasses gloves hearing protection and respirators when required.
