Assistant Director of Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Lynn is a vibrant seaside urban community located just north of Boston. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified in Accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Education as a School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker Guidance Counselor and/or School Psychologist.
  • Massachusetts clincical licensure; LICSW LICSW eligible or LMHC.
  • Masters Degree from an accredited university in Social Work or related counseling field.
  • Five years of successful social work school adjustment counselor guidance counselor or school psychologist experience in an urban school setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with many stakeholders and respond to the needs of families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak read and write Spanish (or other languages) strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships.
  • Must be familiar with community and support agencies.
  • Possess strong organizational time management and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications of Word Excel and Power Point.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and support strategic initiatives in the areas of student support family/community engagement and social emotional learning.
  • Seek and support partnerships that will build capacity for student support and family/community engagement at school and district level.
  • Coordinate support and provide professional development for topics related to student support family/community engagement and social and emotional learning.
  • Develop information sharing practices to match community partnership resources with school needs.

  • Provides guidance to school based teams based on the analysis of local data to assess needs and support development regarding student support family/community engagement and social emotional learning.
  • Supervises and evaluates Clinicians and Clinical Supervisors.

  • Support LPS School Clinicians and Clinical Supervisors to create a safe school environment and support the social emotional and academic needs of students.
  • Support District Clinicians and Clinical Supervisors to develop strong working relationships with families and appropriate community partners and providers in order to support students academic progress and social emotional well-being.
  • Provides/facilitates individual and group clinical supervision consultation to enhance andsupport clinicl practice in the district.
  • Assist with budget management and collaborate in and actively pursue writing of grants.
  • Assumes any other duties appropriately related to this particular classification as assigned by the Superintendent/Executive Director of Social and Emotional Learning.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Social Emotional Learning

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Social and Emotional Learning

DAYS: Twelve month position

HOURS: Regular hours: 7:45- 3:45 M-Th; 7:45-2:45 Friday

School vacation and Summer hours: 7:45-2:45 M-Th; 7:45-12:45 Friday

SALARY: $117524
