Overview
Element is a global leader in testing inspection and certification and were looking for an Site Manager to join our Operational Leadership team at our laboratory in Wiesloch.
Reporting directly to the Cluster Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that timely accurate and reliable test results are delivered to our clients.
As an Site Manager you will take on a variety of leadership responsibilities that drive operational excellence team development and customer satisfaction. You will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations ensure compliance with established safety rules uphold our companys code of conduct and lead your team in line with Elements policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute the SQDC routine ensuring all Safety Quality Delivery and Cost metrics are continuously met and improved upon
Facilitate daily operational meetings to review performance address bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance overall performance
Actively engage with teams to uphold SQDC principles ensuring the operational standards are consistently met across all shifts
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational enhancements cost reduction and overall efficiency
- Foster a culture of trust feedback and innovation encouraging team ownership and involvement in improving operational processes
- Focus on safety improvement initiatives
- Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of 5S methodology
Provide regular operational updates to Ops Manager highlighting key performance indicators productivity metrics and operational challenges
Maintain open communication between departments shifts and teams ensuring issues are addressed in real-time and progress is tracked
Ensure that all teams are informed of daily goals changes and updates to facilitate smooth operations and achieve objectives
Skills / Qualifications
- Proven experience within a laboratory and knowledge of laboratory safety
- A bachelors degree (BA or BS) from an accredited 4-year college or university in an engineering or technical-related discipline with Professional Engineer (PE) designation desirable
- Understands that all functions within the lab fall under their direct purview
- Works closely with Ops Manager regarding areas of lab development and support
- Ability to organize the lab in line with the strategic operational and technical goals of the entire company
- Strong organisational problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to effectively establish and maintain two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of all departments
- Ability to effectively provide managerial guidance to all colleagues on all functions within the lab
- Ability to deeply analyse and resolve operational finance and other significant business issues on a daily basis
- Is able to translate this market awareness into both a strategic and tactical management approach which contributes to the success of the lab at all levels
- Has a proven track record of success regarding managerial technical and operational competency both inside and outside of the lab
