Job Description:
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Specialist performs administrative duties requiring a knowledge of the educational programs support services and additional resources available to aid in technical skill attainment retention program completion and job placement of students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs; provides support to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education programs; assists students in enrolling in the Career and Technical Education programs and associated classes; and assists students with meeting program completion requirements including TABE requirements. This position works closely with College departments and community-based organizations to assist in identifying resources available to students; assists in distributing support services to students including scholarships and funds for child care and transportation support; assists students with resume writing and job readiness as well as other needs in order for students to achieve job placement; provides advising for students in the CTE programs; and assists with organizing and conducting support activities for students. This position will input industry certifications and assist in obtaining and submitting industry certifications when applicable. This position reports to the Director Career and Technical Education Student Resources. This is a grant-funded position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree in education counseling or a career and technical education program. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of 435.04(2) Florida Statutes related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
ANNUAL SALARY: $47489.00
