Job Description
Accountant
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accountant preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant degree or certification.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Record daily transactions from bank statements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis.
- Monitor and maintain cash flow for individual properties.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process invoices payments and receipts.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and hospitality industry standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Collaboration
- Work closely with management and other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Software Utilization
- Utilize accounting and other software (e.g. Xero eFTSure Dext Mews).
- Stay updated on new software and tools that enhance financial operations.
