Calling for Cybersecurity Juniors in Centurion!
Duties & Responsibilities
This position is ideal for a technically sharp junior analyst with a hunger to learn a passion for cybersecurity and a commitment to operational discipline. Youll be part of a fast-paced IT team that underpins one of South Africas largest digital marketplaces where uptime customer trust and data integrity are non-negotiable.

Duties:
- Monitor real-time security alerts and logs using SIEM tools and escalate anomalies.
- Assist with security incident investigation and tracking supporting containment and remediation.
- Conduct vulnerability scans on internal systems and support patch management processes.
- Maintain and improve documentation related to security processes playbooks and policies.
- Support phishing simulation programs user awareness campaigns and basic training initiatives.
- Help conduct access reviews and audits aligned with internal controls and regulatory expectations.
- Track and research emerging threats and vulnerability disclosures to inform security posture.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and support teams to ensure secure system configurations.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma or degree in Cybersecurity Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- Foundational certifications preferred such as CompTIA Security ISC2 CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) or Microsoft SC-900.
Experience:
- 0 2 years of experience in a security analyst IT support or infrastructure-related role.
- Exposure to Windows and Linux environments with understanding of system-level security basics.
- Experience using or studying tools such as antivirus platforms firewalls endpoint protection or SIEM solutions.
Skills & Competencies:
- Good understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals including confidentiality integrity and availability (CIA triad).
- Basic grasp of networking concepts such as TCP/IP DNS VPNs and firewalls.
- Analytical and methodical mindset for investigating alerts and anomalies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills especially for reporting and documentation.
- Self-driven with the ability to manage time across multiple tasks and priorities.
- Eagerness to grow technically and stay informed on new security trends and certifications.
