Our client is a reputable 34 star hotel in the heart of Cape Town known for delivering high-quality hospitality and exceptional guest experiences. With a strong focus on events conferencing and banqueting services the hotel prides itself on its dedicated team and commitment to excellence.
Our client is seeking a highly driven and experienced Assistant Banqueting Manager to support and enhance the hotels conferencing and banqueting operations. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in hospitality excellent leadership qualities and a proactive mindset to manage end-to-end event operations while ensuring service excellence and cost control.

Coordinate and execute all banqueting and conferencing functions to a high standard
Drive food and beverage sales while controlling costs and quality
Conduct monthly stock takes of all banqueting assets (crockery cutlery linen etc.)
Ensure timely completion of function sheets staff scheduling and bar requisitions
Maintain venue setup and cleanliness across meeting rooms and public areas
Liaise with clients and departments to ensure guest expectations are met
Monitor service standards food quality and presentation at all times
Address client requests and complaints professionally and effectively
Train supervise and evaluate banqueting staff performance and presentation
Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures stock control and hotel policies
Contribute to menu planning pricing and overall operational procedures
35 years of experience as an Assistant Banqueting Manager in a 34 star hotel
Strong knowledge of banqueting food & beverage and conferencing operations
Highly proficient in MS Word Excel PowerPoint and staff training
Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans (written and verbal)
A firm assertive and detail-oriented leader with the ability to make sound business decisions
Able to lead a team earn respect and implement high service standards
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt quickly
Own reliable transport is essential
Sober habits and willingness to undergo drug alcohol or polygraph testing
Flexible availability including weekends holidays and night shifts
A can-do attitude with a guest-first approach and professional charm
