Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Position: Food Retail/Back of House
Ref: 5038
Location: Cape Town (Constantia)
Salary: R30000 to R40000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience
Seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the senior role in a busy food retail environment. This position is ideal for someone who has previously managed a supermarket or held a senior role in food retail
Hours: Retail 6 days a week 8 AM to 5 PM and twice a week work till late (events)
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in food retail management/supermarket
- Proven understanding of cold chain management
- Hands-on experience with health safety quality and compliance
- Oversight of operations including generators maintenance cleaning fire equipment and borehole systems
- Strong focus on hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Full stock control and quality assurance responsibility
- Sound procurement and food costings experience
- Strong knowledge of gross profit and cost management
- Ability to effectively manage a team of 35 staff
- Resilient assertive and highly organised with a disciplined and structured approach
- Adherence to correct protocols and procedures
- Strong work ethic and leadership capabilities
- Will report directly to the General Manager and Second in Command
- Results driven professional with a solid background in food retail operations
- Strictly back of house position will be involved with menus
