They specialize in designing and implementing robust high-stakes technology platforms like Calypso enabling their clients to navigate the complexities of financial reporting and treasury operations. The core mission of this role is to act as the firms leading authority on Calypso accounting solutions. You will be the strategic bridge between complex client accounting requirements and precise functional system implementations. Your impact will be measured by your ability to architect and deliver best-in-class Calypso solutions that ensure clients meet and exceed their financial reporting obligations while simultaneously elevating the system analysis capabilities of the entire business unit.
Performance Objectives for Year One
Success in this role will be defined by your ability to achieve the following objectives within the first 12 months. These are not just responsibilities; they are the key results that define a top performer.
- Lead Strategic Solution Design: Architect and lead the end-to-end functional design for a major Calypso accounting solution for a key client successfully translating their complex financial reporting and back-office requirements into a fully documented and validated system architecture.
- Guarantee Solution Quality: Develop and implement a comprehensive functional testing framework for a flagship projects Calypso accounting module. This includes defining strategies for unit integration and user acceptance testing to ensure the delivered solution meticulously addresses all original client specifications with minimal post-deployment issues.
- Drive Knowledge Leadership: Establish yourself as the go-to subject matter expert for Calypso accounting. You will create and deliver internal training materials and mentorship programs that measurably advance the business and system analysis competence of the junior analyst team within your first 9 months.
- Master Stakeholder Engagement: Successfully manage senior client stakeholder relationships (including finance and accounting teams) throughout a full project lifecycle. Your leadership will ensure clear communication complete alignment on project goals and seamless functional delivery from start to finish.
- Oversee Complex Implementations: Guide and oversee the system configuration and development for a critical Calypso solution ensuring the final implementation aligns perfectly with capital markets principles and sophisticated financial workflows.
Profile for Success
To achieve these objectives you will need a track record of past performance not just a list of skills. A successful candidate will be able to provide evidence of:
- Demonstrated experience leading the functional design and architecture of complex financial systems (ideally Calypso) within a capital markets environment.
- A history of creating and executing robust end-to-end testing strategies for financial reporting or accounting system modules.
- Proven ability to translate highly complex business and accounting requirements into detailed functional specifications.
- Experience acting as a subject matter expert or mentor contributing to the growth and development of a team.
- A strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle P&L reporting and accounting principles within a treasury or CIB environment.
